Studies find that forward head posture alters sensorimotor control

Have you ever noticed that you or a loved one has a hunched posture? If you’ve found that your head doesn’t rest squarely over your shoulders, you may have forward head posture.

A study found that forward head posture can make a big difference in the way the body responds to and processes information. A hunched posture where the neck is not resting over the shoulders can create stress on the spine.

Stress on the spine from poor posture can cause pain and tension in the neck, shoulders, and back. It can also make the body slower and certain activities more difficult, like reading, driving, using a computer, and exercise.

Corrective chiropractic care can help correct your posture, which can improve your health and body’s function overall. Correcting your posture can also reduce or eliminate pain! No matter your age, if you are struggling with hunched or poor posture, chiropractic care may benefit you.
