How Can Chiropractic Help Relieve Lower Back Pain

Neuropathy, sometimes known as neuropathic pain, is a painful sensation that originates in the central or peripheral nervous system.

Nerve pain can result from a variety of things and cause a variety of feelings in the body.

Individuals with nerve pain frequently experience numbness and tingling, a sense of restriction, sharp pains that return in a certain area, a buzzing sensation similar to an electric current, a burning sensation, or muscular weakness and loss of strength.

Nerve pain can be caused by traumatic injuries, infections, suboptimal ergonomic working conditions, repetitive actions and exercises, imbalanced and misaligned posture, diabetes, metabolic imbalances, and overwork and strenuous activity.

When nerve discomfort strikes, the body is immediately thrown into a state of distress. The nervous system is a significant regulator of several bodily functions, as well as thought and emotional management.

Nerve pain is a symptom that can be caused by imbalances in the nervous system. When you have an imbalance in your nervous system, it’s important to address it quickly so that additional symptoms do not develop.

Traumatic Injury

Nerves can be damaged by impact (or as the result of surgery), which is known as traumatic nerve injury. When the body suffers significant trauma, nerves may become inflamed, bruised, or cut.

Nerve regeneration is a lengthy process that can take months or even years. Nerves that are inflamed, bruised, or severed can regenerate and mend eventually, although this takes time. Damaged nerves may produce a variety of pain sensations, from searing agony to numbness and tingling, in the meantime.

Damage from Infection

In some situations, nerve damage can be caused by severe infections. Even the body’s natural efforts to mend nerves can be stymied when this happens.

Nerve damage caused by infections may cause dull, aching pain that is continuous, migratory, or localized throughout the body.
Poor Ergonomics

Bad ergonomics are prevalent in the office and at home.

Ergonomics refers to the arrangement of tools, equipment, and furniture in a room with the goal of increasing efficiency. Efficient ergonomic arrangements reduce stress and discomfort while also assisting in body alignment.

Without the appropriate ergonomic setup, nerve damage can result from repetitive activity or movement that is outside of the human anatomy. Carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, trigger finger, epicondylitis, and rotator cuff problems are all examples of injuries caused by poor ergonomics.

Repeated Movements & Activities

Repetitive motion or repetitive stress injuries can occur with any form of hand work, but there are certain motions that are more vulnerable. With the right ergonomics, repeating the same action over and over again might cause damage and nerve strain. These problems are known as repetitive motion/repetitive stress injury.

Carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow are two examples of these problems, which tend to occur frequently in sports and professions that require the same physical effort over and over. Carpal tunnel syndrome is one example; as is tennis elbow.

Imbalanced or Misaligned Posture

Imbalanced or misaligned posture is another source of nerve discomfort and damage in the body. When the bones and joints are out of alignment, the nerves situated nearby are crushed, compressed, bruised, and/or severed.

Nerve irritation is very typical as a consequence of poor posture and misalignment. Postural adjustments occur so gradually that misalignment is often difficult to detect, but persistent pain—for example, sciatic pain—is nearly always an indication that postural modifications have occurred.

Diabetes

When blood sugar levels are excessively high, diabetic neuropathy occurs, a condition in which the nerves of the body are damaged.

Nerve pain caused by diabetes typically starts in the lower limbs and feet, causing burning, numbness, increased sensitivity to touch, or sharp, aching discomfort.

Metabolic Imbalances

Metabolic neuropathy, like diabetic neuropathy, is an impairment of the nerves caused by a metabolic disease. These conditions can be caused by a variety of factors, including kidney damage, severe infection (such as sepsis), thyroid disease, chronic low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), and excessive alcohol consumption (alcoholic neuropathy).

Metabolic abnormalities can cause neuropathy, which causes problems with feeling in specific areas of the body, difficulty using the arms, hands, legs and feet, and difficulty walking.

Neuropathy-induced nerve pain is similar to burning, pins and needles, and shooting pain in any part of the body.

Overwork & Strenuous Activity

Overworking the body or doing strenuous things for a short time can induce nerve discomfort. Small (micro) misalignments in the spine, joints, and bone structure of the body are frequently to blame for nerve pain as a result of overwork and intense physical exercise. When even a tiny section of the body is out of alignment, pressure from the misaligned region compresses local nerves, causing inflammation.

Nerve pain from misalignment is known as sciatica, which is typically caused by an aberrant alignment of the lower joints of the spine, a herniated disc in the spine, or a bone spur—all of which press on and irritate the sciatic nerve.

Chiropractic Care for Nerve Pain

Chiropractic manipulation is highly successful in de- and re-stabilizing the nervous system. The therapeutic impact of chiropractic treatment on the nervous system is partly due to its influence on spinal structure.

Chiropractic treatment focuses on aligning the spine and repairing misaligned joints. This motion alone relieves pressure from irritated, constricted, and compressed nerves.

Manual manipulation by a chiropractor has the ability to influence the function of the nervous system. All systems in the body, including the nervous system, are moved closer to a healthy state as a result of expert chiropractic therapy, whether it is done through an adjustment, traction, or guided exercise. The immune system, respiratory system, circulatory system, endocrine system, and skeletal structure (among other things) contribute to the body’s self-healing mechanism and improve nerve function.

Chiropractic care is a common and effective treatment for nerve pain. By aligning the spine, chiropractic care can help to relieve pressure on nerves and improve nerve function. If you are experiencing nerve related pain, consider seeking out chiropractic care to help alleviate your symptoms.
